Quote of The Day Dec 30th

Technology + Stupids = Fail

So you've heard of stories and even know people who do the most ridiculous stuff when they do not understand how technology works, well here's an awesome story that has recently circled the gaming community.

"My neighbors which I don't really know to well to begin with, got their kids a Wii for Xmas. They got no games for it, but they did get a Classic Controller as well as an additional Nunchuck Combo and a carrying case. They asked me what games they recommended, and I decided to recommend them the Animal Crossing City Folk/Wii Speak bundle, Wario Land Shake It,Mario Kart Wii, and Super mario Galaxy. I also recommended them some VC games including Super mario World, and Sonic 2 8-bit.

Anywho, the Mom asks me what VC is, and I told her. I told her that all she needed to do was put in her credit card when prompted on the Shop Channel, and get the amount of points she wanted. I also told her what WiiSpeak is, and how to connect her Wii to the internet via an ethernet connection.

Anywho, I got a call today from the mom telling me that the Wii is not working. I asked what was wrong and you won't believe it.........

SHE PHYSICALLY PUT 3 CREDIT CARDS INTO THE DISC SLOT.
HOW STUPID DO YOU HAVE TO BE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Also while putting the Wii Speak on top of her sensor bar, she apparently cracked it open. Just ugh. I told her she has to cancel her cards and call Nintendo for a 75USD repair, and now she expects ME to pay for this. Her husband is on my side of the issue, but she is steaming at me right now. Seriously, she put in 1, and thought that that one could not be accepted, so she kept putting them in and they will not come out. I might try to remove them tomorrow with her hubby while she is away on a business trip. The dude's cool, but fuck the wife..."

The thread is worth a a look through with others sharing stories of 'tards and video gaming.

The day is here where you receive bad gifts as well give bad ones(although you don't know it 'cause the people you're giving presents are too polite to say so). I actually still haven't wrapped half of my presents so I'm gonna do that while I watch the part 2 of the Gilmore Girls Christmas episode where they celebrate on the 26th, ya I know, you gotta watch the show. So Merry Christmas, eat up, drink well and I leave you with this pic...

Festivus!(Late)

Forgot to post this yesterday on the 23rd, the OFFICIAL day of Festivus. Let's see what kind of activities we can part take in.

Protesting Bagels

Enjoy some Ben and Jerry's Festivus flavour ice cream.

Or think of others by donating to the Human Fund.

Another way of thinking of others is Airing your Grievances.

Here's someone grievances from the festivus book site:

"To my stupid in-laws who all insist on giving each other gift cards of the same f-ing denomination! Wow nothing says I care like a creative gift card. Guess what guys its a wash! You are all giving each other $25! Stay home and leave me alone this year, f-ing idiots."

Until next year...

Happy No Pants Holiday

Happy Holidays everyone! Looks like the first of gatherings has passed at the recent get together at the Gautam house hold celebrating SeanNaKa, Shaun-Mas, Shwanza, Wrestling/Fighting, The Karate Kid 1/2, uhh...writing on bodies. Let's hope the next set of gatherings is much more safer and we get plenty of sleep, I'll keep updates here on who survives and who dies this holiday but in the meantime let's get to my subject...No Pants!

There's this group out of New York city called Improve EveryWhere that cause major scenes in public that get a lot of people's attention. One example is at Best Buy where about 80 people entered with blue polo shirts and khaki pants on and stood around around as though they worked there. Or the infamous youtube videos of Frozen Grand Central Station. But right now the prank I want to talk about is No Pants 2K9! Every year since 2002 they've been riding the subway with no pants on, ever since the prank's been done in dozens of cities everywhere. I will be joining in with Improve's Toronto chapter this year on Jan 10th, whose in!

I Don't Get It...

I know I'm not the smartest person but not the dumbest, maybe a little bit dumb not extremely. I just don't understand what the hell this article is about. Its an article about perks or something in the new game Fallout 3, I guess I should actually play some games instead of just reading them and gaming culture. So somebody playing this game please explain to me what the fuck it means! BTW the site the article's written, The Escapist , is a very good one, have a run its columns.

Some pic that's part of the piece...I dunno?

A Shawarma Thanksgiving

Hello everyone again, hope all fellow Canadians had a good Thanksgiving holiday(except for you in the the far east coast), otherwise haha to you, we get a holiday in October! I just came back from mine but I'll get to that in a sec, let's recap the week that was...

Currently I am writing this up in my basement due to the carpet upstairs being replaced by wood flooring and sleeping on sofa cushions the past fours days or so.

This what my room current looks like, small room but
crappy camera with not big enough lense size.

My current work area.

Another Saturday of getting piss-drunken and getting fights at the shawarma place, it was more of an altercation that ended up with Hugo getting hit with a shawarma, I don't remember much from that one but I remember it was really funny, having a weird lemon drink at James Joyce and yaking in the sink at The Pump before anyone noticed.
And tonight an excellent Thanksgiving dinner brought by my family and family-friend members, my cousin always doing an amzing job on the turkeys(18 kgs worth!) and awesome gravey but my personal favour this year was the ham. I'm usually not a big fan of ham but this ham was fucking delicous, props to Dan on a great ham. I ate so much I took a break from writing this to take a shit, damn that was some good ham...

This was one of the turkeys.

...And this was the fucking HAM.

Last couple of things to mention, this cool shirt Threadless has reprinted, I loves my zombie shirts.
More details of the "Of The Dead" shirt can be seen here.

And for Kevin Smith's new movie "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" with Seth Rogen(Superbad, Knocked Up, Pineapple Express and every other awsomeness) there are a series of videos from production of the movie that are being uploaded everyday up 'til the release, very funny, check it out.Like they say on SModcast, 'Have a Week!

More Videos

Not much to speak about as of late, going to go to the advance voting for the Canadian Federal Elections later. Right now here's a couple of videos, one of SNL's Bill Hader in make seems to be a parody on dumb Nic Cage's movie Bad Lieutenant with some cool at from Sean Phillips and a weird video of Kate Beckinsale dancing.

Do Not Call List

So the U.S. has had this since about 2003 but now as of last night Canada has its own "Do Not Call" list. No more of those long distant rings you hear that you KNOW are telemarketers, and you window frame fuckers, I don't want no goddamn "free estimates" no how much it'll cost to replace my perfectly fine windows! Now some companies are exempt from this like your bank, charities, newspapers and certain other ones. All details are here and the process to sign up is simple, just type in your number.
Here's a picture I wanted to use and still want to cause its funny.

New Music Videos

Not much today, couple new music videos that just came out about last week or so. First one is Against Me!'s Borne On The FM Waves Of The Heart featuring Teagan Quin of 'Teagan and Sara.'

Next one is Rise Against's first single Re-Education (Through Labor) off their soon to be released album "Appeal To Reason", looks like they're going for the same thing back to the Give It All video. I only just noticed that both bands have "Against" is both names.

I can't find a copy of this video that hasn't disabled the embedding so here

Sunday Hangovers...(With Links)

The dreaded headache that comes after a night of too much booz'in. Still have not eaten yet and its about 3 o'clock in the afternoon but from what I can remember from last night we did hit Vesta Lunch, the most awesomest place to go to when you're drunk, its 3 in the morning and need something to eat that isn't McDonalds.

They're a 24 hour place and has about any type of sandwich a diner should have. I believe I had the grilled cheese.
So this is just a really tiring Sunday(is tiring a word?) where you're want to sleep but just can't. Listening to Jawbreaker's Etc. album, not too loud, an easy listening band, perfect for a hangover. Also checking on updates on my list of websites, one I want to point out.

Sean Phillips' blog, the man that drew Marvel Zombies, Criminal and many others. Now him and Ed 'The Motherfuck'in Criminal' Brubaker(yeah, I nicknamed him that) are starting a new project INCOGNITO. The duel have been bringing the shit ever since Sleeper(which is now in development with Tom Cruise being in it and Tim Burton, and since its Hollywood too bad Ed will 0% involvement). Criminal is brilliant, though I haven't read the last 2 or 3 issues yet, if you read comics and not reading Criminal you're probably a terrorist and stupid, so get on and buy it. Its awesome, its noir, Sean Phillip's covers are beautiful on these, whats not to love about Criminal. INCOGNITO should be no different, another noir-type story with villains! Just from these teaser shots of these first two pages already look great, there's a nice little interview talking about it and other stuff Brubaker's done. So come Decemeber when INCOGNITO comes out, it will be the first comicbook review here.

Thats a wrap! And I'm not so hungover now!

Eleven Degrees of Separation

So I was listening to M.I.A's Paper Planes on the radio last night, it's been getting high rotation ever since Pineapple Express and I realized how many songs and albums I've encountered over the ends that the involve flying or the word "paper". So here is how all these artists are connected to each other:

Rise Against's Siren Song Of The Counter Culture has a track called "Paper Wings"

Hostage Life's first full length CD is named "Walking Papers"

One of Yellowcard's albums has a track which is same as the album name "Paper Walls"

Back to M.I.A's huge single "Paper Planes"

Lastly an album that hasn't been "dropped" yet, T.I.'s "Paper Trail"

And that is how Eleven Degrees of Separation is played people, see ya next time.

Fuckin Finally Eh!

Finally getting around to posting on this blog. Past 2 weeks have been a bit out of control, trying to fit into this shitty, school/working at Blockbuster schedule.

Finally got this blog created with my contributor, co-everything Jawrj. (A bit of a bio post will come soon.)

Finally will post those CNE pics that George has been buggin me about.

Before that though, just want to say what we eventually want to turn this blog into. We've been talking about doing some video additions to our written posts. We've got a Youtube channel that we'll be linking to, to make shit easier. We've also considered doing a podcast, where we'll talk about whatever is on our mind. From reviews to news. Lastly, I thought of linking a flicker account to show you guys pictures that relate to the shit we ramble on about here, but fuck if I know if any of these things will get done.

Quick Reviews - Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten

Alright kidos, George here again(at least 'til Hugo makes his debut post). Every now and again I will be doing "Quick Reviews" on movies and shows I've recently watched, they will be short because I can't really write worth a shit without rambling on into nothingness like right now. So let's get it started!

-Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten-
So the last post I mentioned buying the soundtrack, this weekend I rented it. The Future Is Unwritten uses old recordings of Strummer's radio show to tell the story of his life and interviews around a campfire from people like John Cusack, Steve Buscemi to Strummer's oldest friends he used to squat with in run down houses in London. Its a really interesting look at Strummer growing up and the formation of The Clash, but also sad seeing how the band ended. When Matt Fraction(Marvel Comics writer) came to town for the FanExpo, he talked to me a bit about how The Clash's first two albums was their best stuff and should have ended it there(something to that extend anyway, don't quote me on that). After watching this doc i kinda see what he means, though I argue that London Calling stands side-by-side with the first two. The point is you see stuff you never knew about Joe Strummer, some stuff I kinda didn't want to know but also a lot I did. Though I'm not a huge Clash fan, more so The Mescaleros(which is covered in the doc), check out The Future Is Unwritten if you're a Clash fan or if you're just interested in general about Joe Strummer himself or any of his projects.
Looks like I didn't keep it short or avoid ramblings, oh well.

See Ya Next Time!

Beginning

Welcome to the "Fuck If I Know" blog!

Whats this blog about you ask? Fuck, if I know! Clever huh?
Introducing your hosts myself George[jawrj], I enjoy different genres of punk so most of my postshave something to do with music. And my partner in crime, the creator of "Fuck If I Know", Hugo[hyoo-goh] who will be telling you about what films you should be watching and what's a pile of turd! We'll be bringing you the daily happenings of our twenty-some year old lives, reviews on products, food, bars and whatever the fuck else there is!

So to begin, today we went to The CNE(Canada National Exhibition) on its final day of the summer. Spent a lot of time in the Food Building eating different types of food and I got myself the soundtrack to the Joe Strummer Documentary "The Future Is Unwritten" for only 5 bucks!(see, music related already...somewhat) This would be much better with visuals, hopefully Hugo will be posting them up soon.

Laters!
