Mistaken 'Zombie' Identity Attack

"Iowa City Police are looking for a man who assaulted another at a restaurant -- claiming the victim was a "zombie."

According to a police news release, officers arrived at Panchero's, 965 S. Riverside Drive, about 1:17 a.m. after getting a report of the assault.

Police said in the release that the victim was in the process or ordering food when a man came up to him, accused the victim of being a zombie, then punched the victim in the eye.

When the victim attempted to use his cell phone to call police, the assailant hit him again, this time breaking the victim's nose. The assailant then fled out the back door of the restaurant."

150 +1/2 Epic Lesson

Since I've been contributing to this blog so much, I've decided to set a goal to have 150 posts for the year of 2009. No more, no less. Me and my budds Gorgeous Georgeous will Rock Paper Scissors to decide who gets to write the last 1. If we fail we will have to make >9000+ posts for the year 2010, and Steve Jobs will have to release <9000- ipods in the same year.

In the meantime, if you're going to a show, drink - it's fun. However don't drink so much Wiser's that you black out before the band goes on, and end up waking up lost with puke on your jacket, only to find out that the band just finished their set. NOT COOL. Oh well, I'll see ya next year Flogging Molly. (That's 3 years in a row that I've missed them)

Take that as half an epic lesson.

Paul Rudd...Top Chef?

Anyone else watching this season's Top Chef? I've actually found it kinda disappointing so far, majority of the people suck, almost Hell's Kitchen chefs' "suck". However there is one chef that has caught my attention, its Paul Rudd! aka his dykey twin brother Ashley Merriman.

Hot Dog Thief 18 months in Jail

WORCESTER — Eighteen months in prison, that’s the price a man is paying for stealing a hot dog.

Police reports don’t list the brand of hot dog stolen in August by Antonio J. Judd, but one thing is clear — the tasty treat was slathered in mustard.

Mr. Judd, 35, who last lived at 106 Woodland St., Apt. 1, pleaded guilty to larceny from a person and disorderly conduct charges yesterday in Central District Court.

Judge Austin T. Philbin sentenced Mr. Judd to serve 18 months in prison for the larceny charge with another 30 days for disorderly conduct. The sentences will be served concurrently. Mr. Judd received 47 days’ credit.

About 6:45 p.m. on Aug. 12, a man was sitting under a tree eating hot dogs in Elm Park when Mr. Judd walked up to him, police reports said. The man heard Mr. Judd mumble something incoherent, and believed he was drunk. Then Mr. Judd blurted out what he wanted.

“Eat that other dog?” Mr. Judd asked.

“Yes,” the man replied.

Lifting up his shirt, Mr. Judd showed what appeared to be a handgun, the police report said.

“I’m going to eat it,” Mr. Judd said.

Police reports said Mr. Judd grabbed the hot dog from the victim and began to chow down.

“In doing so, mustard spilled onto the suspect’s shirt,” Officer Joseph Francese wrote.

Police began searching for the suspect and found a man matching the robber’s description walking near Elm Street and Park Avenue. Over his cruiser’s loudspeakers, Officer Francese ordered Mr. Judd to stop.

Mr. Judd didn’t stop walking, but after the officer continued to tell him to stop, Mr. Judd turned, his hands tucked in his shirt.

Two officers approached him at gunpoint and arrested him.

Mr. Judd first struggled with officers, but was eventually handcuffed.

“A pat frisk of Antonio revealed a gun which turned out to be a pellet gun,” according to police reports. “A pocket knife was also found to be on Antonio.”

The victim later identified Mr. Judd as the thief.

The sentence imposed by the judge came from a recommendation made by the prosecutor. Mr. Judd was originally charged with armed robbery, but he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of larceny from a person.

Charges of carrying a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest were dismissed.

According to criminal records in Central District Court and Worcester Superior Court, Mr. Judd has been in court numerous times for assaults, drug possession and vandalism.

In February 2008, Mr. Judd was sentenced to serve 6 months in the House of Correction for vandalizing property. In September 2006, he received a 2-year sentence with 6 months to serve for assault and battery.

Worcester Superior Court records show in 1994 Mr. Judd was sentenced to serve 6 to 10 years in Walpole state prison on assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and other charges.
